ok so how's everyone doing? i came across this site, i think it is great. I just started experimenting with saltwater tanks. Ive been a freshie for over 10 years until recently when i bought a 35 hex saltwater set up. The tank is great, i have a lot of live rock. I started with 4 damsels, 2 of which were 3 stripes, the other 2 were blue and yellows. I also have a 65 or 70 gallon tank that i made saltwater. it has been up and running for over a month. controling nitrates

Posted 06-07-2008 at 03:24 AM by neddih
I do have one question, I have had my tank, 40 gallons, for about 2 years now, the only thing I seem to have problems with is nitrates. Ammonia levels are normal and so are nitrites, as well as phosphates, but the nitrates are off the scale. No matter what I try they stay high, does anyone have any suggestions?
Even doing water changes that are 2/3's the volume o the tank doesn't have any effect.
