Finally added a sump to my red sea max!!

Hi guys!

About 10 months ago i was trying to find a way of adding a sump to my max which did not involve a pump in the tank and a pump in the sump as i had heard that getting the feed and returm correct could be tricky and would need to be constantly monitered.
I was quite disapointed to hear this as i was real eager to get a project going on my new hobby. So undetered i did a little research and thought about putting a sump above my max that could be housed in the garage as my max is on the living room on my garage wall. I was even more disapointed that the lfs dimissed my ideas and said it would be a waist of time.
I was so sure that it would work that i drew my plans of the sump down and got it built and then set about linking it to my max dispite the lack of enthusiasm from my fishstore (i was out to prove my point).

So here is how it all works-

my sump is sat on gallows brackets at a level higher than my max on the other side of the wall in my garage.
Water is pulled from my max using a fluval external filter, it is drawn through the filter which houses activated carbon and all my ceramic balls.
It is then pumped through to my chiller and then up into the first chamber of my sump. This first chamber has a red sea prism hanging on as i had it for free and a little less noise coming from my max is much appreciated.
It then flows into the second chamber where i have a little live rock and a planting of calurpra.
It then flows into the last chamber to where i have a small pump that pulls water into my tlc tube that is filled with rowaphos and is then returned back to this last chamber.
The last chamber is drilled in the bottom and has a pipe (which is 9" tall) in which the water flows over and makes its way back into the main tank.
The beauty of this is if there is a power cut, the water will stop flowing over the return pipe so preventing a flood!

Id like to get some pictures of the sump etc on here if anyone is interested but i dont know how to get them up, so any advise would be much appreciated on how to go about doing this
