The octopus or Steve? lol
Somehow an impossible eel in the overflow box will be nothing compared to an octopus with one arm around one of the kids.

heck no, no octopus for me....i have just never seen one in a LFS yet..thought someone might have some real pics of their own.

trust me....if i did have an octopus and it got ahold of one of my kids...

the first thing i would do would be grab a camera, take a whole bunch of pictures of my kids screaming...and then help them, in that order!!! i am all about THE TORTURE. you should see me chase them around in the basement with a super worm in my hand that should be in my bearded dragons mouths but instead is used for scaring the kids. THEY HATE IT!!

At one of the wholesalers I worked at years ago the boss decided to order in a blue ring octopus. We had it in the facility for about a week, very fascinating creature, but I would never consider owning one. I was afraid one of our idiot freshwater packers would decide to play with it and get bitten.

i am not sure on price. by the looks of it, not many people must even own an octopus, this thread is empty. i really wanted to see some pics of octo's in peoples homes.

hey patrick...didnt you used to have an octopus and it got you sick from sipping on that old salty H2O?? whatever happened with that...did you grow any extra limbs with suction cups on them like in LEVIATHAN??

I actually just saw an octopus in the LFS display tank this weekend, they set up a 50 gal tank of its own... creepy! thats what it was... creepy! It was about 2" "head" size, and 12" leg-leg size... crawling all over the glass...

wasnt for sale, so no idea how much it was going for...

You can buy an octopus on liveaquaria.com for 50 bucks. I dont really want one right now, but some day down the road it may be fun to set up an octopus tank.

u23girl, didn't you say you lived in Anchorage? If so, you must be talking about "Maggie" at the reef in the sears mall. I think she is cool, even thought about getting one in a 20 gallon or something. The dwarf octo's go for about $40 & from what I understand are very easy to care for. Especially for someone that is used to keeping a reef going.

I just was at my LFS and they had a dwarf octopus. First one I have ever seen at any of my 5 LFS. Would have gotten it if I had the tank but I don't so had to let it pass. Oh ya it was $40 btw.

Yeh octopus are very smart animals. Most people i know that own them hand feed them right at the top of their tank. Sadly they only live around 2 years if im correct. Fairly cheap but must be kept in a tank alone.

I just saw one myself at my lfs it was priced at 100 bucks, which seemed pretty expensive since it was not that large.
