These contests are great! The clean structuring of this site really offers the opportunity of bringing a diversity of ideas and experiences into one forum. In my opinion, and also that of others who have replied to this contest, it would be great if this tank could be integrated into an educational environment. Maybe spark the scientific/aquaria interests of kids in school. Class hampsters and ant farms are great and all, but I'd opt for a saltwater tank anyday!

Ryan -- After raising tropical fish on & off since 1960, I am ready to start my first marine aquarium (75 - 110 gal.) It will be in my living room and I want to prevent water damage to surrounding fictures (carpet, orchids, tables, lighting, etc.) I live in the Washington D.C. metro area and am wondering whether I should by products and specimins locally or take the rish of having them shipped. I am 1/2 way through a good guide and plan setting up with live choral and plants (?) in about 5 weeks.

Your advice on who to contact locally would be very helpful.

Have you looked at the guides section on this website? It walks you thru a lot of the steps needed to setup and maintain a successful tank.
