Default Proper shipping and handling

Looks like I have a potential buyer for my clowns for when I move. I'm not seeing any posts dedicated to handling. My potential buyer is at least in my state (I just live in a very big state). But I do not need my fish going into shock. I've never bought fish online (just snails and food), any suggestions from those who may have done this before?

If it's going to be a long trip for them which it probably will be, try not to feed them for a day or so before shipping. That way they won't be giving off much waste products into the bag water. One of the biggest problems I see when getting new fish @ lsf is that they try to use 1 net to catch them. Use 2 so you're not chasing the fish all over the place & stressing them out. Be sure when you bag them to give them a good head space of air in the bag. It's more important than lots of water.

Your gonna wanna use a 72 hour heat pack or a long lasting Ice Pack depending on the temps to and from when shipping, check your weather before hand. Always wait as long as you can before bringing them to USPS, FED-EX, UPS, etc.. the less time in the bag, the better, And you already know this but OVERNIGHT SHIPPING is a must with Fish.

Try to make it so there is a good amount of air in the bag, always double-triple bag if possible if case 1 bag might develop a leak, and last but least, package with lots of crushed up paper or packaing peanuts to lessen shock (outside of the fish bag of course)

I also have seen lots of peanuts and a box lined with styrofoam. Also putting fresh 100 percent oxygen is a must for a long trip...
