Default My 45 Gal Frag Tank !!!

So this is my plan as I buy/trade stock for coral for my 29 gal DT I will take if possible a few frags from each coral that I get, After growing them out hopefully trade them off for a new frag type to start the process over again....

So arms wide open for donations!! LMAO no I will pay for some frags pending shiping and price if someone is willing to help me out in getting started the favor would be greatly <appreicated?> and returned within a reasonable time frame

So the Frag setup.....

45 gal tank 18"W x 17"T x 36"L

2 x 96w PC lighting... Mainly will be starting with zoanthids so I think this will be enough untill I can find a cheap used mh setup around 150w

40-50 lbs of LR.

600 gph return pump @4' head hookedup to pvc for flow + I will be adding if needed another smaller powerhead

A cheap jebo oddysea protien skimmer that I took apart and modded

I have a emperror 400 hob filter I will use after feedings to remove food waste.

I plan to add a fuge with cheato to this also out of a 5 gallon I have.

This frag tank will be tied in to my 75gal DT and will sit underneath sump style in the stand

VIA pic phone
Full frontal

long veiw shot

small frag rack

Fragged my zoos lastnight

Powder free rubber gloves, eye protection, razor blade & tweezers.

I looked at the piece while it was in the DT to figure out what area I wanted to frag off. I cut them on the mat between the poylps (cutting size/shape I wanted to pull off) then peeled up the corners of the and used the tweezers to gently peel off the zoos away from the piece of LR glueing it to another piece of LR, Rubble or a frag plug. Today they are open and looking heathly !!!!

So now I have 7 zoo frags!! with 5-10 poylps on them!! I was reading how a guy started each frag with 2 poylps grew them out for 2 months!!! then sold/traded nice full pieces, He also stated when picking his zoos out from a LFS, trader, or online he said if it didnt have 7 colors he didnt get it, this made me look a little closer at mine I have 6 or 7 colors on mine from eye out, I will look again later and post what colors they are.

I can get a pic with my pic phone , I was loading my digital up one night this little icon popped up saying transfer lost or some poo thats when I heard the camera bounce off the wall by my 2yr old. (after it being completely submerged 4 months back in the mermac river in MO and still worked) anyhow I will get an overall shot on to sometime today, Once my DT & frag tank get a little more full I will hav emy cousin come with his fancy camera and take pics, he is a bird watcher and takes pics from a good distance he should be able to get some good shots of the tanks

I might of missed it somewhere, I apologize early on, but what are you going to do with these frags? I know you want to swap with locals and maybe on RB, but would you consider selling them if you were asked?

Oh man, I am on the verge of begging for zoas...for some reason, I like them a lot.

Green and yellow Zoanthids might look fantastic in your tank, however they are some of the most common.

If you want to look for some rare killer zoas, PE or PPE try finding some purple people eaters. I saw some this past week for near $100 a polyp! GULP
