Default Ricordea Yuma SOS

I just rec'd my Ric yesterday thru the mail, and it was fine until last night, the darn clownfish kept snuggling into it and they knocked it off the ledge right onto my Elegance coral. So, after work I figured I'd try supergluing it to the rock. Well, it got all sorts of mad, and some white fluid starting coming out of the mouth, and then pretty soon, it was spitting this white chunky mass out of his mouth. So, I just put him on the rock and left him alone. I never could get it superglued down. (i've never had any luck with that superglue gel). Anyways, my question is, do you think he'll recover? This is my first Ric, so I don't know.

Cheers,

Liz

it should recover ok, shrooms can take a beating. Let it settle down before you try and mount it again. When you superglue do you use superglue gel or just normal superglue? You have to use the gel or it won't work. I use Loctite Super Glue Gel. You can get it at any corner store like walgreens or CVS.

I did try the gel, and I've tried that brand before but with no luck. Do you have to take both pieces that you're trying to glue together out of the tank and dry them? From what I've read is that as long as one piece is dry when you apply the glue, you can glue them underwater, but I can't get it to work. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Liz

Both objects that are being glued together have to be out of the water and wiped with a dry. If you do not do this, there is a chance the glue will not hold, thus creating the same exact problem you had to start with. 'make sure you get the super glue gel....it works wonders.
