Default Help, dying brown mushroom colony

Hello, I need some info, I bought a rock with about 30 mushrooms and they all seem to be dying. They looked great in the LFS. I also bought a leather too and I brought them both home and acclimated them. I put the brown mushrooms onthe sand and my leather at the top of my tank. I have had both for about 4 weeks and the shrooms are slowly dying. I have other shrooms that look o.k. in color just not alot of growth yet. I have had about 15 die off the rock. I was wondering if you think I should start to add iodine? I have read that softies like it. I currently add calcium every week, strontium and do 12 gal water change every two weeks. My calc 460, nitrates and nitrites 0 , PH 8.1, alk dip test says 300 and I don't have a test kit yet for phosphates or magnesium. Going to purchase those soon. I have tried putting the mushrooms about half way and they don't do any better. I have a 125gal tank with PC lighting. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I would like to keep them.

How much PC lighting do you have? And I personaly wouldnt use test strips try finding some better testing kits. Only dose iodine if your testing it, and I dont think thats the problem with the die off of shrooms.

I honestly think that he could be doing better. He will occassionally look great with all of his tentacles out and the baby beside him hasn't cae out at all. I'm not sure of the wattage on my PC, but I am purchaseing a Metal Halide with LED's and Moonlights that has a total of 1134 watts. I hope that this will help along with testing and alot of water changes.
