actually light requirement for ricordias are medium not low and propogating can be easy but is slightly more difficult than mushrooms due to their sensitivity.

My rics are under T5s and near the top. They need a medium light level and medium flow, not a low one and slow flow like discosomas.
Don't cut one to make more unless you have more of the variety as it may not survive but usually does providing the one you cut has 2 mouths and each half has a mouth. They will split naturally given time.Sometimes an individual will grow 3 mouths and it will be a 3 way split.
I find them to be much more aggressive than other mushrooms towards neighbours that they touch especially zoas that soon stop opening.

Its best to not frag a ricordia unless you have more than one of any kind. They usually do OK if you do frag it. But sure would be ashame to lose it and it be the only one you got.

I bet someone else agrees with me, but I have never seen a ricordia that looks like that before with the long tentacles and all.

Maybe someone messed up the order, I've had great luck ordering from them. Got 2 assorted and he sent 3 and all of them are very nice. Email ken or call up and explain your situation. I bet he would look out for you if you ordered something else.

I have also ordered from there. They have a rhodactis labelled as a discosoma. Crap happens. The ricordia I got from them is actually a ricordia, though.

Well that "ric/anemone" is old; I got it about a year ago. It has split and looks like a ric, so I dunno. Im gonna keep calling it a ric.

my green ricordia has been around forever, it seemed to be growing at one point but it got knocked over a couple times and i think it got damaged..it is still on a piece of rock but is slowly getting smaller and smaller...any suggestions? i have moved it around to various spots in the tank but nothing seems to help...all that is left is a piece about the size of maybe a quarter if that..sorta bummed..used to be full and hang over the other rocks.
