 Propagation tank question..... Salt creep ???? hi am building the 10 gallon propagation tank and its all set up already, its going to be for xiena only. my equitment is a 15 watt and 13 watt flourecent light strips, heater, small filter with purigen in it, coral rubbles as substrate, and live rock. so my question is since this is under my stand its also NEXT to my electrical equitment and i was wondering if salt creep can grow on that and cause some electrical failier ????

| Re: Propagation tank question..... Salt creep ???? Ian I had a 10 gal frag tank set up near all my electrical outlets and had not issues. But I also dont have ANY salt creep since I took the topper off. Id say just keep an eye on it. Easier to clean a bit off then to rebuild your house.

| Re: Propagation tank question..... Salt creep ???? ok i will see then. Thank you i just dont want any fires lol o and the highest light i could find for my prop tank for my ten gallon xiena tank was 40 watts for (50 bucks) by satilite so is this good enough ? |

| Re: Propagation tank question..... Salt creep ???? I used the next light up even though its longer it is 65 watts. But yeah for xenia its plenty in my opinion. especailly if you have them set up off the bottom. Good Luck show us pics

| Re: Propagation tank question..... Salt creep ???? I wouldnt say "ALOT" but yeah for xenia you will have nice growth, at least I did anyways. I ran the 65 watt as a dual daylight, then a 15 watt actinic but a 50/50 which that light comes with I believe would do well to I bet. A friend of mine has the same light and 10 gal tank and his xenia is EVERYWHERE

| Re: Propagation tank question..... Salt creep ???? i dont no what to pick i mean for 50$ i can get the 65 watt one and for 45$ the 40 watt one but i dont want to waste a lot of electrcitey lol what do you think a tank like mine which is like 600 watts on and off is a month i dont no ?

| Re: Propagation tank question..... Salt creep ???? Rule number 1) NEVER try and estimate the cost of the aquarium. If you enjoy it then its worth it, once you realize what it costs you wont enjoy it anymore. As far as the differance between the lights. I went with a 65 watt. I doubt it will even cost a buck or two more a month to run a step up on the light. Hope this helps.

Salt creep ???? wont this cause to much heat since my light will be under my tank next to my light plud outlets O and how would i make this fixtures legs if its to big cause i dont want it smack on top since that would bring to much evaporation for a small 10 gallon tank |

| Re: Propagation tank question..... Salt creep ???? Either light will create about the same amount of heat. I notice no differance between my 130 and my 65 honestly. And the light comes with legs that are fully movable to make it fit any size tank up to its max size.

| Re: Propagation tank question..... Salt creep ???? Your just gonna have to either get a extra small clip on fan or something to get the hot air out form under tha cabinet other than that all I can say is keep an eye on it. I like my 65 watt light if that helps.
