Default building a glass aquarium ??
I would like to build my own tank, how thick of glass should I use, the size I would like is 48"x48"x20" has any one builded an aquarium if so how did you do it had did it last

actually theres a great link to a acrylic build, grated its a 190 and different dims. but the processor would be the same. Its in tis forum under acrylic build, toward the top of the page.

I plan on building a 300+, but have heard mixed opinions on glass and acrylic. According to the calculator I would have to go around 3" thick?

I was also thinking of the same as far as diy'ing a tank, but more than likely you won't save much, Unless you have a custom size you are bent on. I had a cut list quoted for a 40"x24"x20" , and I could buy a preffessionally built tank for almost the same $$$$$$. Good Luck, Bigffish
