Default Culture Your Own Phytoplankton

Hello All,

I just posting this thread to see if anyone can point me in the right direction as to how i would go about culturing my own phytoplankton as my reef tank is a 240 gallon system and i beleave i can save money buy making my own in the long run so if anyone can help me out that would be great and also this thread could help others who are interested in doing this

Check this site, it is a really good resource for getting you started with propagating your own phytoplankton.

i know the articles of Marc (melevs reef) in his site you have 2 options... use this formula (the other one will not work and it will crash all the time)

1 Gallon of 1.019 salinity, 5ml of miracle gro (home depot $6) and 1ml of kent marine essintial elements

make sure to clean the bottle VERY GOOD. good luck!
