Default Advice for building a nano skimmer

Anyone have any advice for making a nano skimmer out of a penguin biowheel filter (penguin 100 i beleive). It is the only hang on back that will fit on my tank because I have a millenium 3000 that takes up almost the whole back of my tank. Advice/ plans please?

I'd go out and buy a skimmer, building one requires a lot of know how and time.
