Default DIY Self Cleaning Head and Washdown system

So a few days ago i read about these things on reefbuilders

So i decide to test out my fab skills and give it a go.

here is what i came up with. I have a direct RO water feed from my 19 gallon RO pressure tank in my garage. I used a fish bowl innovations solenoid to control the washdown. It is timed on my RKE to wash the skimmer down for 3 minutes 2 times a day. I have a Reeflo 250 Orca skimmer. And my tank room has a direct drain to the sewer, which is obviously where the skimmate drains to.

I used a cheap BBQ rotisserie motor, and a little acrylic, few hours later, and here we are

probably around 30 bucks in total, about 6 hours of fab time. I am going to toy around with the idea of building these as bolt on kits, but we will see
