Default DIY glass scraper

I'm looking for some ideas for a good diy coraline scraper (for my glass). I use a blade and I can't bring myself to spend the $50 on a blade attached to a piece of metal that they have at the LFS...so I'm determined to make my own, even if it cost me more than $50

You can make a whole bunch of scraper for under $10.

that is funny...but if it gets the job done, why not right? I was thinking of machining something to attach my blades but I might have to give this a try...

Hey Mew, that stuff works great!....I made a few and was able to clean my entire tank (back and sides were covered with coraline) in 1/2 hr. I didn't think it would be strong enough, I think I'll be sticking with this instead of making something out of metal....it's cheap enough....thanks.

DIY Scraper

Simple, easy and very cheap solution for you sir. Go out and buy small extendable pole something like shop keepers use to pull up and pull down sign boards. I got mine for less than $5 and it’s made out of very light yet very strong aluminium hollow tubes. I have glued the outer magnet part to the pole with small DIY hook and made sure it does not go close to back outer wall of the tank. I then place the cleaning side of magnet on the inside wall of the tank and Woolla... It takes me around 5 minutes to clean all back and front wall of my tank which 72 x 30 x 24.

Now have a look how it is done.....

many thanks
tahir
