Default Mounting Icecap T5 Retro kit....

My T5 light kit just came in today. I will be wiring it this weekend and am looking for ideas as to how to mount this thing. It's and Icecap Kit w/ ballast. Have R2 Extreme Moonlights coming in also. LFS suggested pieces of 2x4 at each end, but I'm looking for some more support around the outside of the assembly, as the lights will be moved frequently for water changes. All this will be going under the canopy. I'm sure some of you have used these kits before. Any mounting suggestions? Also, and ideas for mounting the moonlights between the T5 lights? Thanks for any suggesions.

Also, do you connect the wire to the Waterproof endcaps? I am not new to electrical work at all and can do some soldering, but I can't seem to figure out how to connect the wires from the ballast to the T5 Endcaps. Check the Icecap site and they provide no wiring schematics. If you want support you have to fill out a form & email them. Some support. Hope the product is as good as their rep says.

All you need is a 1x2 to mount the end caps on just to give it some air space. But you could mount it directly to the inside of the canopy. The wires are color coded, one color per bulb.there should be spring loaded clips to put the wire into for connections.Just strip off about 1/4 inch of the end of the wire push the clip open and put the strpped wire into the clip.No soldering required.

Thanks, took a little playing around with, but I see how the wires clip in now. Going to build the frame tonight. Gotta pick up some supplies.
