Default recycling R/O waste water

I was wondering if anybody has yet to come up with a way to reinvert the waste water line back into the r/o so there will
A: not be anywaste water
B: you wouldnt go there the filters as fast since a cleaner water is entering the r/o
C: maybe a possible gain in water pressure from the pull or push of water flow (maybe drop instead)
D: i cant think of a D

But i was thinking if the water was reused itd be great. Espeacialy for people in lets say Arizona where the water is very valuable. And A pump might be the only way to get this done. I was thinking there might be a way of using some kind of eductor valve switched into the line to create the extra flow - im really kinda thinking as i go here but im going to try on working on this since it would be a great value to many. I really dont even need it since i have an endless and free supply of well water (lucky me ) but i thought reef keepers should try to protect our planet as much as possible so we can still enjoy our hobby

any thoughts?

You don't want to do that. The key word here is waste. Waste water carries away stuff from the membrane so if you were to reuse it you'd be shortening the useful life of the membrane by sending more contaminants there. Collect the waste - wash your car, water the flowers, top off your pool - take your pick.

You conserving waste water for your tank won't help us miserable folk in the southwest. I would have to say that poulation control would help us out more. If we were so worried, I'd have to say we would not have tanks. I use the water for plants.

the waste water isnt worse than the water going into your r/o- i figured itd be more filter than water coming from your tap, right? If so reusing it wouldnt be such a bad idea. maybe i missing something here.

I believe the waste water has the remains of the stuff you are filtering out. So it has a much higher concentration of the bad stuff so sending back through the filters means they would have to work twice as hard. I collect it in another big trashcan and use it to water plants.

I pour the "waste water" into the washing machine to do laundry. Its a pain in the butt but if thats what it takes to use ALL the water and not waste it then so be it. Ive seen on two other sites where people have their waste water plumbed into there washing machine so they dont have to carry it there. Kudos to them!

Or you could just a get a filter system that doesnt have any waste water.
Poly-Bio-Marine
Or you could build your own for under 100$'s. I am about to build version 3 of my not so famous filter.Version 2 brought my tds down to 8 ppm.I am expecting version 3 to get less than that, maybe 0.And I am filtering water from the city of richmond that gets its water from the James river.

Is there any reason you can not use some of the waste as drinking water, boil the water for tea or coffie, or may be even washing! just a thought
At the end of the day water comes out of the mains and you drink it all.
What does the waste consist of?

You can use it for doing the wash. It contains everything that your regular water has but at higher levels.

Here is a pic of version 2 of my filter.Version 3 will be much taller, fed from the bottom and contain more filter media. It should be able to do about 150gpd with no waste water.Oh and a tds of less than 8.
