I bought a kit, waste of time, you have to sand in one direction, then another, starting with a coarser grain and graduating down, its very difficult to do and I didn't see much improvement...

unless your sanding wood with a directional grain, that is basic for sanding yes, I am talking a buffing wheel on a high speed buffer

I am refering to a 260 gal & 90 gal acrylic tanks in my area that are on ebay, just listed started at $9.99. 260 is cracked along bottom though. if I bidded on the 90 and won! the worst that would happen would be the ugly scratches will be to deep to remove.......!!!90 gal sump!!! on my 29GAL lmao no I am picking up that new 75gal a little later this afternoon got a great deal on it from JOHNNY'S REEFING EXPERINCE !! I would suggest anyone in the Bloomington/Normal IL area to check him out. The tank I got was a used tank from his store $1 a gallon!!

It says on the directions not to use a circular motion - using an orbital sander was my original plan until I got the kit and it had very specific directions...

yea I bet even the highest grit sand paper would put a haze if applied in a circular motion. I am really thinking about using it for a sump. IF it goes for cheap, hell if I had a spot for the 260 I would get it fora sump and double seal the crack on each side with more glass.

You could always use a belt sander

For a sump I'd try it - can't hurt and you may find a good technique to use on a dt
