Plexiglas/Acrylic are one and the same material made by different companies. The names are trade names used by the companies to differentiate between brands. It's like Chevy and Ford. They both make cars with different names.

I don't know about buying acrylic in your neck of the woods. I am lucky enough to have 2 acrylic fabricators in my area, so if I need any small stuff, they usually are more than happy to sell some.

plexiglass is acrylic but you would be better off getting lexan if you could because it is much more scratch resistant and much stronger.

ok .. the stuff is called lexan and i am not to sure how it will hold up in the saltwater (might get brittle) .. i have used very thin sheets of it when i used to race r/c cars (dont laugh) ... maybe if it is thick it might be better .. let us know .

I wont laugh, i have raced those before aswell. I have a BMW M3 that gets smoked, but it is fun nonetheless. Its blue.
