| I actually heard it is better to use hard PVC, but i dont remember why. You could plumb the 55 into your sump now. IF you dont want to drill it(reconsider?) you could use an overflow box with an aqualifter pump, but then you will have to drill a few siphon breaks in the lines for anti-flooding purposes. From there you would just run it into the sump like the other tank and then have a separate return pump for that tank. I think that is how it would work. |

| You could probably use that flexible stuff. I really dont know what the advantages and disadvantages are with the hard stuff. I heard it was better but i dont exactly remember why. And i LOVE your user tag, its awesome. |

| I am basically doing the same thing with my sump, frag, seagrass and reef tanks. And this is what I did: ![]() I did not show the return pumps. Also, hard PVC pipe is much better, I also forget the reason behind it, but if you plumbed the tanks now, the pipe hardly costs anything. So, to redo it in 6 months would only put you back a few dollars.

| In tha pic, I do not show the return lines. Basically, the drain lines split into a T. one part of the T goes to the sump, and the other part goes to the 20g frag tank.

| Just as a basic return....probably some 1/2 or 3/4" pvc pipe going from the frag tank to the 40g, then another pump going from the sump to the 55g.
