| I tried to make a HOB overflow and it didntt turn out that great at all. I would just buy one. Aquatraders has them for a good price. But if you get the aquatraders one, you will also need the aqualifter pump from Aquarium supplies for your tropical fish tank, saltwater fish tank, saltwater aquarium fish, freshwater aquarium fish & reef aquarium. Aquarium filters, aquarium lighting, aquarium tanks, protein skimmers & more for your reef tank.

| I have the same overflow and it is greaat for the money, I have expiramented using it with and without the aqualifter and it does work without it. But if your power goes out 4 or more times your box may have to much air to continue its psyphon so I still reccommend the aqualifter. You can pickup both for under $50 |

| You can make on very easily and save about $60.00 after you add the cost of material. check out this site. DIY Overflow Box Here is the one I made and it works grate. ![]() I did not use a pump I just glued a piece of ridged air line and put a air line to it with a check valve and I just give it a suck when I see air building up in it about 1-2 times a month. as for bulkhead size that depends on how much flow you want. Here is a site that will give you the answer. Reef Central Online Community
