Default Canister Filter/Refugium

Has anyone ever used a canister filter to provide the flow and return for a refugium?

Lett me know if you think this would work? I was going to put a baffle in the canister filter to split it into two parts. then drill a hole on the bottem left and right, one for the flow in and one for the flow out.. I wish I had a photo to show you.. regardless do you think something like this could or would work?

It might work, but why bother? You can buy a return pump for not to much money and the canister will make a great media filter for carbon or phosban or both.

What kind of flow rate do you get from the canister?

By the time you factor in head pressure the flow from the canister is going to be just slightly over 200 gph.Thats actually not very much 4x.You should be able to getnear 10x flow with a regular pump.I am going to stick with my original recomendation.
