Default Opinions on this light

I have a 75 gallon and want to get new lights. I saw this on ebay.

VHO 48" 760W Metal Halide Reef light Aquarium Lighting - eBay (item 160239373709 end time May-17-08 12:24:50 PDT)

Price is right but its a no name brand and I think the wattage is too high. It would give me around 10 watts per gallon. I will be taking corals from my other two tanks to supply this one once I get the lighting solved. I will have 3 varities of mushrooms, xenia, sun coral, zoos, carpet anemone, frogspan and green star polyps.

Or should I just get an 8 bulb T5 set up by Nova.

Thanks.

Thanks. I can't believe the stand legs are $50. Is this the light you have on your 90? How many watts? The description didn't say.

William is there a reason why you choose this brand over a Nova Extreme?

Foster & Smith has the 8 bulb Nova on sale for $386 with stand, acrylic cover and bulbs. I know I saw someone on here who said they didn't like the Nova but don't remember who.

Thanks for the info.

I contacted Reef Tank Lighting this morning and the bulbs are not included. Here is their quote from my email.

"Please note that this fixture does not come with bulbs or mounting legs. The legs are an additional $49.95 and I do recommend the Giesemann T5 bulbs. We offer Aqua Blue +, Midday, Actinic + and Pure Actinic Giesemann bulbs so you can create the best possible lighting combination."

I know I am whining but I was all hopeful for getting out the door around $500 and now we are at $700. I might just try the Nova becuase I dont' plan on any corals that are really exotic. Maybe I should go back to the ebay one. Then I get MH and the price is very reasonable. Others have posted that they got the same light and were happy.

AAAuuuugggghhhhh! I can't make up my mind. I know it a chick thing. Thanks for listening.

I found an 8 bulb Tek T5 light for $489 with Geisemann Bulbs. The acrylic cover and stand legs are the cheapest from reeftanklighting.com.

Here is the site: Sunlight Supply

I hope to order it next week.

Thanks for the input William. Noel
