| William ! wow thats like the limit of the price range.... i have a couple of question so lets start with 1- do i need to get a chiller, 2- do i have to hang it or can i just like get a stand, and 3- would i have to replace all 6 39 watt bulbs at once and after how long would it last until i have to replace them?? and if i get this does this let me keep any coral????? and do you like the product like are you happy with it and if i ever upgrade can i stilll use the light even though the tank might not be 36 inches across???? and last question how much was the shipping and handleing???

| No need for a chiller I just added a small 8" walmart fan blowing into my sump. You can either hang it or buy the legs no real way to make your own legs unless your skilled. I have never replaced my bulbs yet it is still pretty new the bulbs are alot cheaper than PC's or MH bulbs. I like the tek light alot just not the plexi cover. I bought it locally so there was no shipping... I keep any type of corals I want. SPS in the sandbed even with the par that this light puts out... |
| ||||
| do they use the normal type of light bulbs that my 96 watt coarl life uses?? and do you replace the bulbs all at once , and how much was it locally was it cheaper?? and would i be able to do a water change with it or is it so big that id have to move it down and then later put it back on cause remember i have a 40 gallon tank look heres a pic of my tank with my crap lights ![]()

| The bulbs on the T5's look like floresant bulbs not power compact bulbs. It was a little cheaper buying localy but if you went with regular ground shipping not bad. The legs that you can buy for it adjust up and down for getting into the tank. The bulbs on my 48" are about 17.99 each power compact bulbs cost about 50.00 localy and 30.00 each on line. I had 2 power compacts before my Tek light and it cost 280.00 online for all the bulbs now its only about 120.00. its not bad there are alot of people using this fixture with great results... Call the place you want to purchase the light from and simply ask what it would cost with everything and shipping. If they dont want to help there not the place I ould buy a light from..... alot of people will price match as well... |
| ||||
| thanks for the information ill save up for them but i go to ask some thing is it better to have a bulb thats 150 watts or a bunch of 39 watt bulbs that equel 150 watts .... its just a question i mean i still want those t5 lights o and how many watts are the t5 like how many do they equel

| ||||
| but you told me the 36" Tek Light: 6-39W T5 High-Output Fixture with Bulbs $429.95 not 54 watt with 8 bulbs ??????

| What type of corals do you want to keep ? T5's are probably the most versatile because you can custom a look with a variation of bulbs. Checkout Scotslights.com for slightly blemished tek and aquatinics fixtures. He can also get you bulbs at wholesale prices. I have a aquatinics TX5 fixture myself and is great. The only thing I did'nt like about the tek's is no fan. |
