Default All Glass Aquarium Mega Flow Question?

I just bought a Mag Drive 9.5 to run on my 90 gal and have a 20 gal sump. My problem is that the mag drive is pumping all the water out of the sump faster then the water is draining back into it. Is this to much pump for my aquarium? Is there something im missing on how to get this mega flow to work? Any help will be great Thank You.

Your overflow is the problem, what size pipe do you have from your overflow to your sump?

As long as your overflow can handle the pump flow, the sump water level will continue to drop and the tank water will continue to rise until the overflow pipe matches the pump flow rate. At that point, the water in the sump and tank will stop changing. If the pump is too strong for your overflow (or piping), the water in the sump will continue to drop and the tank water will rise until it overflows the tank rim.

i had the same kind of problem before with my 75 G tank, I ended up getting a ball valve to change the flow.

I'd check out my entire overflow setup just to make sure the overflow is running full bore. My 90 Gal w/Megaflow handles my Mag 12 without too much problem. I did have a similar problem and found out that I needed to clean out my overflow elbows.
