i had to shut the skimmer off for a couple of days to treat the tank for red slime.since i have restarted the skimmer i had to adjust the venturi as low as it will go and i am still getting alot of water in the collection cup.has anyone else encountered this and if so did it balance itself after running a while or is there another fix.the skimmer worked flawless until the shut down.

Depending on what you used to treat the red slime, this is not unusual. When you kill off large amounts of living material, the bio-load goes sky-high. Your skimmer is working by taking out most of the proteinaceous mass out of the water.

after running for a couple of days the skimmer is not filling the cup with water any more,it's getting just the bad stuff now.
unfortunatley the reddish brown algae is back.
