Default Lighting Schedule

Hello fellow reef builders,

I currently have a 90 gallon non drilled tank with a sump filter.
I am currently using a 48" Aqualight Pro light (2) 10K 150 watt lights and (2) true blue 03 96watts each.

I am changing over to a 90 gallon drilled tank with a refugium filter. here are my questions.
1st, what kind of light should I use on the refugium filter?
2nd, what kind of substrate and critters should I have in this filter?
and last, what kind of lighting schedule would you recommend for this type of set up?? including when I should use lights on the filter.

As always thank you for all of your help!!!!!

the light could be a normal 13 watt strip flourecent light for cheto

for substrate you should put around 2 inches or so or more of Miricle Mud by

Ecosystem Aquarium Miracle Mud The first and still the best

just look for a dealer and becarful when putting it in so it dosent make a mess.

for critters thell appear overtime so none and you should have a timmer on the light to prevent algae same with your main light)

just have your main tank lights on for around 6-7 hours when your home ( set this on a timmer of course) and your refugium should be the same or if it dose not bother you have it on a reverse light schedule.

I really want to step in here... heres a link for a nice bulb which you should always run a reverse lighting cycle when you have a refugium and this light runs everytime your diplays off. You can use a biosediment like the one Kent sells. you want no less than 4 inches. Fill your refugium with your bio and fill it up with some water and a cup from your main display tank, or fresh saltwater, right before you fill the tank so when the water goes down the overflow into the refugium it doesnt disrupt the biosed to much this could really cloud the tank. If your refugium already has water in it add water to the biosed before adding it to the refugium. Maybe someone from your area has some nice Cheato to add in there. This will be a nive place for copods and other life to live a grow.
