Default Wave2k?

Is anyone here using the wave2k? I've seen a few videos on youtube and some of them seem very loud and some seem quieter than my overflow. I like the concept alot, excpecialy because the motor is out of the water and heat is of huge concern on my tank during the summer. Looking for opinons on the product; noise and reliability are my primary concerns.

Noise is high, I've seen these in person, still they move a lot of water. Have you considered looking at a tunze wave box?

Were they enclosed in a hood or on the back of the tank? I don't like the resonant action of waveboxes.
