Ok, so i am convinced that I need to set up a qt. what do I need to do this?

40 gallon Reef- One Yellow Wrasse, 2 Chromis, Hermits, Snails, one Sand Sifting Tiger Starfish, one fighting conch, and Corals- one frogs span coral, one Green striped and purple mushroom rock, one orange mushroom frag, purple glove xenia, Tan xienia, 2 differnt types of green star polyps, one Cynarina coral, , one Fox coarl, one button polyp rock one plate coral, one yellow scroll coral, one Big Orange Montipora capricornis, one 2 mouthed Orange Ricordea Mushroom, Two Blue Maxima clam, One Red Scolly, One Big Yellow Trumpet Coral, and some yellow Zoas.

as mush as you can cause that would be your filteration but you really cant quertine big fish in a 5- 10 gallon tank maybe try a 20 gallon there only 40 bucks at petco

You don't want LR in a QT. Qt are bare bone systems. The point of a QT is to have the fish in a system where they are completely alone. That way you can watch they fish for any signs of undesirable things in you tank (i.e. ich). The QT is also a place that you can dose things like copper and hyposalinity in an enviroment that isn't going to wipe out everything else in the tank. For a good QT you need a tank, a HOB filter, a power head, and some PVC tubes for the fish to hide in.

yea that but i said live rock cause of filteration and if he gets a HOB filteration its gonna be a nitarate factory

Ditto. you also should have some type of lighting so you can see your fish easily to check for parasites or diseases and a heater.

Here's a pic of my q-tank


Using LR in a q-tank is bad, because if you need to treat a fish using chemicals for a disease or parasite, the LR will suck the chemicals out of the water quickly.
