I've used it to, I find it easier to just add the kalk in the bucket.

I have a larger tank (210) and its more of a pain for me.

I'd say anything 120gallon and less this piece is a god send.

Anything over, dont waste your $$$ and get a kalk reactor, or add kalk to the top off water.

I have a 150 gallon.

Why is it a pain with your 210 and why is it easier to add kalk to the top off water?

Do it dispence to much or to little kalk?

It just seemed like I had to add the kalk just as often, plus it seemed at times the pump was straining out.

I find it easier to just add the kalk, stir the hell out of it, then dump it in the top off bucket.

I will checkout the dispencer when I get it. If it is not worth $110 I will return it and just use the drip I finally set up.

I think you might regret gettin it.

The check valve is going to get stuck/caked with kalk and the pump is going to act up. (you'll see)

Wrong.

You must not understand how the dispenser works. The check valve does not contact kalkwasser. The kalkwasser-enriched liquid goes directly from the dispenser into the tank/sump. If installed according to the instructions, neither the pump nor the check valve come in contact with kalkwasser.

The product is well designed and I use one in both of our tanks. No problem for over a year...

Ok well if the checkvalve doesnt come in contact with kalkwater, then what prevents it from hittin the pump. the check valve.

Anyways, I still dislike the calcium add on very much. I dump my kalk right in with the ro top off water, I have a maxijet 900 in there as well constantly stirring the kalkwater, this method works far better for me.

I am going through 5 gallons every other day. I cant deal with that little thing they call a calcium dispenser.

The only reason I'm using kalk is to keep my ph at 8.2.

I have a calcium reactor to do the main brunt of things.

The pump draws RO/DI out of the reservoir; it pushes the water through the check valve into the calcium dispenser. If installed correctly, there is no way for the kalkwasser water to be drawn back into the check valve which is situated above the top of the bottle. That's the way it's supposed to work, anyway.

Like you, I only use Kalk to maintain PH. I use Kent Turbo Calcium to supplement what my SPS use...

When I do my weekly water changes, I replace the unused Kalk that remains in the dispensers. Takes about 5 minutes. My 180 gets 7 tsp of Kalkwasser every week, while the 95 gets 2 tsp.
