Default Skimmer help!

I am cycling my tank and starting to mess with my skimmer. I have a vortex 1002 skimmer from Catalina aquriums. It looks almost identical to the Coralife super skimmer. My problom is this. Even with the flow control turned all the way open i get water in the collection chamber. The pump that came with it has a little black tube for air for the pump. Do I need to use this too. I get foam but it slowly fills with water.

Default Venturi?

I am not familar with that skimmer but I was wondering if it was venturi and does it have a adjustment for air. If it does not you could try reducing your air with a valve. hope this helps I do this so I can get more ozone in my skimmer.

Ok, it still fills up with water but very slowly. Life a few hours. The water is all greenish yellowish and has a bunch of slime in it. I am guessing it is working right?????

Yes use the tube for air intake, without it the skimmer will not function.
