Default Yet another lighting question

Hello everyone,
Today I went to switch my tank light on , and boom! The flourscent light ballist made some fire works. So now its time to do an upgrade. My tank right now is a 36 gallon fish only but i would love to add some live rock and coral one day after I get the hang of things. (I've only started about a month ago) I would like to buy a decent light that would be suffecient for a reef tank and hopefully last me quite a while. I've been lookin at the T5 lately and so far I've been leaning toward going with that. Do you guys think this would be a good choice? Will it fit my needs as I get more into the hobby or will I have to upgrade again in the near future. Also if you have any other lighting recomendations please let me know.

T5 would definitely allow you to keep corals. They don't run as hot as MH. Be sure that you get a light that has individual reflectors on each bulb.
