Default Filter upgrade question

I have recently started a 75 gallon tank. The store I bought the setup from sold me an Aquaclear 110 filter. I have a small amount of live rock currently and plan to add much more. Upon visiting another store and talking with some other people it has come to my attention that this filter is inadequate for my tank size. At first the tank will be fish only and then I would like to upgrade to a reef tank after the tank has been going for some time. What type of filter unit is best best for a fish only tank my size and what type would be best if/when I decide to upgrade to a reef tank. Thanks in advance for the advice.

I would go with an overflow and into a sump system. This would be the best option IMO.
