Typically, the bigger the pump, the better when it comes to any of the AquaC line of skimmers. Most people like going with a pump that has a flow rate that is one step above what AquaC recommends. The smallest pump that you probably want to put on the Pro version would be the Mag 3. Many people are now "upgrading" their Pro versions by putting a Mag 5 on them.

Thanks for the response. This pump is a physically large pump. Is this appropriate to strap onto the front of my skimmer? Here’s the pump - marineandreef.com/Pondmaster Mag Drive Pump Thanks again

Many people do, but I don't like hanging any pump with flexible hose. I always either try to connect them directly with PVC fittings, or if there is no other way and the pump needs to be hung by a hose, I will tie the power cord so that if the pump pulls off it will not fall down to the bottom of the tank and disrupt everything down there. It shouldn't be too difficult to rid up some array of PVC fittings to connect the pump directly to the skimmer. Just make sure that you leave room so you can fit your pump over the rim of the tank while it is installed to the skimmer.

Thanks..good info. I'll hook it to the flex tube for now while I age the salt water and rig something a little more secure with PVC. I wish there was a physiically smaller pump with equal or more GPH I could use...this thing takes up too much room. Thanks

I have the same problem and contacted the company. Several possible reasons for the bubbles, one - the tank is new and you have nothing in the tank for the skimmer to work on. Another reason is the skimmer is breaking in. It will make bubbles for the first couple of weeks. Stress coat additives, certain water dechlorinators, trace element supplements, and certain oily foods can all cause this problem to be worse. It is also normal to see some level of bubbles as part of normal operation. Hope this helps

My Remora has never made any bubbles, but I have heard of some people that can never get rid of the microbubbles. New tanks are worse than old tanks for microbubbles though so it should get better. Some people have better luck with getting rid of the microbubbles when they use the optional filter box, and other people have better luck without it.

| I was thinking of getting one of these with a Mag 700 (biggest one out there). What is the ratio for water flow in reef tanks please?
