Default MH Ballasts

Has anyone had a particularly bad experience with certain brands of ballasts. I am not sure of the brand because I am away from my tank now, but I have 2 X 175w MH and two ballasts on the side. I am going to have to rewire what's in right now. Lot of neglect. Bad for them, good for me. Still loving the deal.
