Default chillers and algae

i have a 150 gallon aquarium that has a water temperature of about 85 degrees and was wondering if i got a chiller and lowered the water temperture by about 5 or 10 degrees if the algae wold go down with the water temperature.

I dont see a lower temp having anything to do with algea growth. You might slow it down if the temp was below 50 or so. the stuff grows under the polar ice cap.

it helps get wrid of a little bid of it. becasue it changes some of the conditsion that they need to grow.

yeah, its like a bacteria, you lower the temp, it dies...your you could make it super hot, but i wouldnt advise that!

The real way to get rid of algea is to eliminate its food source phosphates,nitrates and amonia. And maybe a reduction in the length of the photo period.Or get a few critters to eat it.
