Default Aquarium silicone question

I need to put some silicone around the output pipe (the one from the HOB fuge). My question is: It states the smell is of bad vinegar until it cures; will this hurt the livestock in the tank, or should I take the fuge off of the tank to do this? The fuge right now is half full of water. Thanks for your help. Oh, the part that is needing the silicone is not in the water, but above the water and over the edge of the tank.

I used this stuff to seel 2 tanks together.

it DOES smell like vinigar a lot.

i dont think it will hurt anyhting though.

after all, it is meant for the aquarium.

Deb, what you will smell is the acetic acid that's in the silicone. It won't hurt things since it's only a small quantity. Some people use vingar in their tank to adjust pH down if they need to.
e_b - the final cured product is safe for aquariums-not the uncured product.

i know the final product is.

I dont think it would even hold water in when it isnt fully cured.
