Default refractometer question

I have a question about my refractometer. Do they have to be re-calibrated with each use, or once set are they good to go? I calibrated it properly (I hope) with distilled water, and have tested my water (all OK) but just got to thinking do I have to go through this process for every use. Sorry for probably such a simple question...I'm a newbe!

Just check it time to time with the distilled water or ro/di water, if it still says 0, you should be fine

Good question. Once calibrated, you should be able to go a few months without needing to calibrate it. I usually check mine every couple of weeks with top off water.

Thanks for the answers. Kind of what I was thinking, but just wanted to make sure.
