Default Skimmer problem

I moved my skimmer and cleaned the collection cup and now the thing just makes a excessive amount of foam 30 seconds later the cup is full of overflowing foam any ideas? this thing is such a pain to tune

not trying to steal your thread but i have a " diy " skimmer that all i can get is alot of thick white foam, shouldnt it be a darker brown foam? could I have my overflow to deep not skimming close enough to the surface?

when the foam runs down andcollects its a green or dirty smelly brown

got it back to normal i hate this skimmer i will be uppgradeing the skimmer and makeing the sump bigger soon too

having same prob bought a skimmer and all I can get is alot of fast wet faomy bubbles which fills up collection cup fast. what did you do to correct it?

maby its silly but i left it run with no bubbles for 2 days then put some kinked the line then opend it all the way .. tuneing the output each time

I know on my skimmer and many of them all you do is adjust the water flow on the output which in turn decides how much work the pump is doing as far as GPH...Also if your skimmer is new and your tank is not very established just give it a few days...Personally my skimmer (Coralife SS 220 Needlewheel) pulls about 1/4 of a gallon of horrid smelling waste out of my tank a week and it's just a 55 gallon tank...Good luck with skimming!!!
