Default MH BALLAST multi tap

does multi tap mean you can add more than 1 bulb? i also noticed that some MH ballast are marked as Metal Halide/Mercury Vapor does that mean that they would run either?

Default Re: MH BALLAST multi tap

Ballasts are devided into wattage ranges and frequency ranges and some mh amd mercury vapor bulbs cross over. The ballast itself should say exactly what bulb its for and how many right on the label. If you are buying your ballast from lowes or home depot most often there mh/mv ballasts are single lamp units.Because of heat issues I would recomend you use electronic ballasts as opposed to "oil filled"or "tar" or magnetic ballasts.
