I bought this UV Sterilizer
UV Sterilizers: JBJ Lighting Submariner UV Sterilizer/Clarifier
I intended to take out the bioballs from the middle chamber of my 29 gal Ocieanic Biocube, and place this, as well as the heater in the middle chamber instead. First of all, the water level is lower than I expected, which would not have stopped me entirely, but there is also a bottom to the chamber that has a grate for the water to go throug after the bioballs. I could get by with only 4 inches of water with this thing if I placed it horizontally, but there isn't even that much because the grating is about 3 inches from the actual bottom.
The sterilizer fits beautifully in the middle chamber in the vertcal position! Anyone know a way to make the water level in the second chamber go up without decreasing the pump flow?
Another option is to mod the Sterilizer, so I am up for suggestions on that as well.
If all else fails, anyone know of another option for a UV Sterilizer that works in the biocube?
Thanks in advance for the help!
