The article certainly speaks well of the live rock/sand /skimmer combination and say that bio wheels make no difference.I also wonder if the sick coral and algea in the jaubert system may have been an anomaly.But imagine,100 days without a water change.

There was a guy on here a few months ago that had a killer tank. Was opening a livestock store I think. Said the tank had not had a water change in 2 years.

Interesting, thanks for the post. Sounds like what most people here have been saying - LR, LS and skimmer = healthy tank. I also read the guys post about no water changes, didn't he say he had lots of LR? I would bet that there is an achievable balance between bio load and live bio filters where manmade filters would not be needed. But I would think a certain amount of trace minerals/supplements would be needed. So much to learn...
