Default Skimmer

Ok I got a Berlin Classic. I got the wrong one (I needed hang on but got in sump one). I ran a hose from the pump (came with skimmer) to the input and then two hoses from the outputs back into Sump. The Skimmer is full of water (so I think its working) but is there supposed to be bubbles or something? Attaching pic:

Cant you put skimmer In sump. You should be sucking air through small black tube. I cant tell If air In take is hooked to venturi or to pump.

My Sump is just to small to put it in. I have all the hoses correct (I think). I messed with the nob on the front of the pump and now it looks like this (I think this is how its supposed to be):

Lots of bubbles ! WOOT WOOT!

I shouldnt see many, if any bubbles in the cup, sense I have no fish in tank yet??
