Default Clearer water question!

So I looking for some ideas here. I have a wet dry under my 90 gal that I removed the bio balls from and added LR. It also has a in sump skimmer from Life reef. this is my main source of filtration including my 125 lbs of LR and 4 inch sand bed. NO UV, NO REFUGIUM which I really want to get this comming summer. I cant really put a sock on in my case so I'm looking for some cheaper alternatives. I have a media filter above the LR and there are 2 bbubble difusers. Which they collect debre also. Whats the best filter pads to use. Can i place filter socks on the return to the tank I know this might look silly but you know. My water is pretty clear already but the clearer the better I almost want to sell mine for a acrylic I hear great things about them...

yoou can order really cheap HOB filters from different online stores and it will come to less than 20$ with shipping. I may end up doing that with my 40g breeder since there will not be a skimmer.

I use this on my fresh water tanks and have for years. I also use it if I need on my salt tank I just clip it on the bubble traps with plastic clothespins. I do not use it all the time because I want the goodies to get to my refuguim. It works real good to polish the water and is cheep and you can wash it just don't use soap. They have smaller sizes also I just get the big one and cut it to fit.
