Default Haulin' Fish

I am going Tuesday to get my tank...YAY!!! I went to Walmart and got a few plastic Rubbermaid containers, two 50qt's to be exact. I am going to be hauling the fish home in them but i did not want to take 6 fish that were used to 55 gallons and throw them in a tight space, which was the reasoning for 2 containers. I also got a dual output air pump and drilled holes in the lids for the tubing. This is going to work, right? Also, what should i use to clean out the containers? I am really lost on that one. Thanks for the help in advance.

In containers that size I would be more concerned with temp.Unless its a very short trip you might want to wrap the containers ina blanket.I wouldnt use anything chemical to clean the containers, just rinse them very well.Besides the tank and fish what else are you bringing ome?

For 400 dollars i got...

1. 55 gallon aquarium(not drilled)(48x13x18)
2. Oak Stand with room for sump underneath
3. Oak Canopy
4. Magnum 350 filter(no idea what im going to do with it)
5. Excalibur Protein Skimmer(rated at 110 gallons)
-I had never heard of the brand so i looked it up and there were mixed reviews, either people loved it or hated it. I guess we will see.
6. Power Compact Lighting(260 watts for a 55 gallon tank, not too shabby)
7. 2 Powerheads(Aqua clears at 300 gph a piece)
8. 100 lbs of Live Rock(sent me pictures, looks all covered in purple Coraline algae)
9. 60 lbs of Live Sand
10. Test Kits
11. Salt
12. Cleaning Supplies

It also came with fish but i dont know what i am going to do with them. I am going to redo the tank so they may have to go for store credit.....that is also up in the air at the moment.
1. Various Snails and Crabs
2. Starfish
3. 2 Blue Damsels(eek)
4. Imperator/Emperor Angel
5. Butterfly Fish
6. Percula Clown Fish

It is only a 2 hour drive, and they are going to be in the backseat of a car, which will stay within the proper temp range. It will be the same temperature as me, and i really freaking hate being cold.

again you got a pretty good deal...but that emperor angel is NOT going to last long in a 55 gallon they get pretty big and a butterfly needs great water conditions just letting you know so you can work around them. good luck dude
