Default New to me 110gal tank

I'm getting a 110gal tank from a pet shop thats no longer around, drilled with a over flow.
This tank was used for fresh water fish. I was told by the owner of the shop that nothing was used in it that would harm my salt water fish.

What I want to know is how do I clean the pipes or do I replace all of them?

PS: any one know were I can find tested plans for a DIY skimmer

I'm not really sure when you say "replace the pipes." Hopefully they're PVC. If there is any vinyl tubing, I'd definitely replace that. I guess it would depend on how old the system is and whether it was sitting around dry or in use. I'm a coward at heart and would probably replace the plumbing just to be on the safe side. caveat emptor "let the buyer beware" LOL

A good fresh water flush with r/o water should do the job.I dont see any need to change pipes unless they are the clear plactic tubing which I wouldnt use on any tank.

What if you had the pipe away from any of the lights, lets say connecting 2 tanks....

Some of the nasty stuff that collects in the plastic tubing has nothing to do with lights, and its just plain ugly.It takes a while to get that way but it will.A lot uglier than pvc.I actually think this is where the idea for the nitrate coil came from.Besides those slip fittings and hose clamps get a lot of salt creep.

Yeah, I understand now.

The only reason I was asking is cuz I was thinking of using some flexible tubing to connect all my tanks, but now my dad is letting me drill through the wall.
