| This is how I usually hear from people in order of "good" or not..keep in mind people's idea of good are variable. Hydor, Tunze and Vortec....I'm pretty sure Vortec is the most expensive if that means anything to you but to be honest the Vortec sounds like the better deal...could you PM the link I may be interested in this as well b/c I was think vortec was out of my range and was just going to go with 2 tunze 6025 |

| Anthony, the Tunze I was looking at was the 6101. Both setups are about 1000 dollars. The 6025 is about 70. They are all at marinedepot.

| Just thought that I would add my opion to this thread, I recently got a pair of Vortec pump with wave drivers and a battery backup. I had a pair of Tunze 6060 on a wave driver power strip and you could not control the volume of water flow, not so with the Vortec I have these on a 100gal mixed reef and this the best setup you can buy. I've been in this hobby since 98 and have had many differrent power heads and pumps, you won't be disappointed when you get the Vortec setup. Just the option of different flow patterens and water volume makes this worth the money my fish and corals seem to love the flows. I run them on Reef Crest mode during the day and Lagoon mode at night, plus you have the feeding mode, thoughly read the instruction on mounting so that you can adjust them so they will not make any noise, once you get them dialed in they only make a small hum. Enjoy you new gagets. |

| I have vortech too. Really like them, quiet, no heat in the tank, variable flow. I''ve never had Tunze so cant compare, but am happy with vortech.

| I would agree with the others and recommend the vortechs...hands down the best pumps I have owned. Checkout Aquarium Supplies, Pet Supplies and Pond Supplies by That Fish Place - That Pet Place, they have a 20% discount off your order until the end of the month. |
