Default Skimmer problem, just started

Hi all,
I have the Bak-Pak2 skimmer on my 20g. It has worked amazing from day one (I got it used so it was already broke in) The bubbles that came out of it were VERY minimal, couldn't see any..

Yesterday, I took the skimmer off and cleaned it, just rinsed it all with water. Now, there are TONS of bubbles, looks rediculous. Any ideas????? I didn't change anything, same pump same water level same everything..

Are you talking about bubbles reentering the tank from 90 degree elbow? Does your unit have the adjustment valve on the air hose?
Sure got cold today in Iowa.

sorry yeah, coming out of the return pipe at 90 degree. I do not have an adjustable air intake, just a tube with a special end on it...

But I did not do ANYTHING to the intake..and now the bubbles are overwhelming.

That happens everytime you clean it. It will settle down after a day or 2.

I'll ditto Gary. It's something that is very common with certain skimmers right after cleaning them. Give it a couple days and it should go away as crude starts to get built up on the inside of the unit. It shouldn't affect your corals or fish, unless you have certain types of starfish or sponges.

I do not have any spnges or starfish. So I will not be worrying! Thanks for the responses. Makes me feel better. The bubbles have decreased today (2 days after cleaning) I am assuming will be back to normal tomorrow or the next day. Thanks!

I have 2 cpr's and I have trouble also with them sending bubbles into the tank. You should have an adjustable air valve on end of air line tubing so you can adjust bubbles within skimmer.
