Default building a refugium, any suggestions?

So i have some questions and i am looking for some some advice. First off if i were to make a refugium out of an existing glass aquarium, could i use plexi glass for the dividers or is it better to use acrylic and why? I think i like the design of the ADHI refugiums and want to model mine after that. My tank is 55 gallons and a ihave a sump right now, but i want to make something big enough to house my asm g-1 skimmer, have a refugium, along with increasing my water volume. I'm also debating making the whole thing from scratch our of acrylic. I'm handy however i've never worked with it before. Is it difficult? any suggestions?

If the old tank is glass, have some glass cut for the baffles, plexi or acrylic wont want to bond to well to glass

I used plexi on mine and had no problems.I used silicone to install the baffles.

The 10 gal fuge i made with glass/acrlic held up just fine but once i went to brake it down and all it took was to rock them back and forth a little the silacone lifted of and i was able to pull it of with out truble

Its just me but I... Will never make another sump fuge as i had made the 10 gal
