Default Lighting a corner 55??

I have a friend that has a corner 55 and she has the typical hood on it, no where near enough light, she would like to have some coral in it... is there a 2 ft light that would rest on a corner strong enough for coral? she doesnt want to hang it..

Thanks

and links would be great

Your friend may have to end up getting a few fixtures that are short. What are the demensions of the tank?

I at one time tried to get a GE engineer to build a circular light for corner tanks.I dont think he is going to do it but i will ask again when he stops laughing. On the other hand I have had a plan for a corner tank light that is a bit unusual.Cosider a fan shaped fixture with 4 or 5 t-5 vho retro units.4 bulbs would give you 160 watts.5 would be 200.

Dale if you did that you would probably strike oil, sounds like a great idea!!!!! Corners just have such limited options for lighting. You really ought to do that.

I have a corner tank and my hubby built a support for a 24 inch light. it sits across the canopy and rests on the edge of the tank. This keeps it far enough off the canopy that the heat won't crack it again and if it does the light won't fall into the water. If you would like to see pics let me know and I will get some for you.
